A Dream Start, Undone in Minutes
Örebro couldn’t have asked for a better opening. Rasmus Wiedesheim-Paul put them ahead after just 19 minutes at Borlänge Energi Arena, finishing off good work from Kalle Holmberg. Didn’t last long, though — two minutes later, Mass Sise leveled it for Brage, and any thought of a comfortable night for the visitors evaporated almost as quickly as it arrived.
Brage, sitting 12th and five points clear of Örebro heading into the match, took the lead themselves not long into the second half. Lasse Madsen struck from distance, a proper long-range effort that beat the keeper close to the post, off a pass from Filip Trpcevski. 2-1, and Brage looked to be cruising toward a home win against a struggling Örebro side that hadn’t tasted victory in Superettan since mid-May.
Yasin Levels It, Lundin Restores the Lead, Then Wiedesheim-Paul Strikes Twice
Örebro found a way back into it with half an hour left, Ahmed Yasin finishing off another Holmberg assist to make it 2-2. Brage responded again, though — with nine minutes to go, Anton Lundin put them back in front, finishing off a pass from Alexander Zetterström to make it 3-2 and leave Örebro needing a response in the closing stages.
They got one. Deep into stoppage time, Wiedesheim-Paul struck again — his second of the night — finishing off a pass from Christopher Redenstrand to level things at 3-3, the last goal of an absolutely wild match. Speaking to TV4 afterward, Wiedesheim-Paul called it a tough game as expected, but said his side kept creating danger throughout.
What It Means Next
The point does little to change the shape of the table — Brage stay 12th, Örebro remain 15th — but for a side that’s now gone 94 days without a Superettan win, dating back to a mid-May victory over IFK Värnamo, salvaging a draw from 3-2 down in stoppage time will feel like a small mercy. It was also the second meeting of the season between the two sides; Brage won the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier in the campaign. Brage are next up against Nordic United on 23 August.
