Slow Start, Then Hammarby Take Charge
Took a while to get going, but once Hammarby found their groove there was only one team in it. Bajen beat Degerfors 4-0 at 3Arena on Sunday, their third win in a row, and manager Henrik Rydström still hasn’t lost a game since taking charge of the club.
First half wasn’t much to look at, honestly. Both sides had their moments early, created a bit, nothing really landing. Then in the 40th minute, Paulos Abraham was in the right place at the right time — Degerfors keeper Matvei Igonen spilled one, and Abraham just poked it home from close range. 1-0, and Hammarby went into the break in front, even if the performance hadn’t quite matched the scoreline yet.
Bajen Pull Away
Second half is where it really opened up. Victor Lind played Montader Madjed through, and Madjed slotted it past Igonen to make it 2-0. Didn’t take long for the third to follow either — Tesfaldet Tekie let one fly from distance not much later and it flew straight in. 3-0, and by that point Degerfors had nothing left to hang onto. With about fifteen minutes to go, Madjed grabbed his second of the day, a proper worldie by the sound of it, to round things off at 4-0.
Degerfors just had no answer once Hammarby got rolling. They’d come into this one already struggling — winless for eight straight in the league, hadn’t scored in either of their last two — and this result does nothing to change that story. Third from bottom now, and the gap to safety isn’t getting any smaller.
What It Means Next
Third win on the bounce for Hammarby, who move up to second in the table and look like genuine title contenders the way they’re playing right now. Rydström’s unbeaten record as coach stays intact too, which is quietly becoming a bit of a story in itself. For Degerfors, this is turning into a genuinely worrying stretch of the season, and they’ll need to find answers fast before the gap to safety becomes something much harder to close.
