Superettan | Round 12 | Tuesday, 16 June 2026 Landskrona IP, Landskrona, Sweden
Two goals in the first half were enough. United Nordic, one of the Superettan’s better-performing sides over recent weeks, never got going.
Landskrona won 2-0. Both goals came before the break and the home side defended the lead competently enough across the second half that the result never felt seriously in doubt once it was established.
This was a contrast in form heading into Tuesday. Landskrona arrived having put together a turbulent but productive run — four wins, four draws and just one defeat across their previous nine matches. They had also just thumped local rivals Helsingborg 3-0 away from home, a result that gave real confidence heading into this one. The problem had been at Landskrona IP itself, where they had gone three home matches without a win, drawing tight contests against Brage and Norrby in recent weeks. Tuesday was about putting that home form right.
United Nordic came in unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches — comfortably the better recent record of the two sides on paper. They had drawn 1-1 at home against Östersund in their previous outing and sat fourth in the table, well clear of Landskrona who were down in eighth. The form table suggested a tight, competitive contest. The first half did not play out that way.
Constantino Capotondi has been Landskrona’s main creative outlet and top scorer this season with three goals, and his influence was central to how the home side broke down United Nordic’s structure inside the opening 45 minutes. Landskrona moved the ball with purpose, found space in behind United’s defensive line, and converted twice before the visitors had really settled into the match.
The first goal came from sustained pressure in the final third. Landskrona worked the ball into a dangerous position and found the net to take the lead. The second followed not long after, doubling the advantage and effectively settling the contest before half-time had even arrived. Landskrona went into the break two goals to the good, in firm control, with United Nordic looking shaken by the pace and directness of the home side’s approach.
The absence of André Álvarez Pérez — Landskrona’s regularly-booked centre-back, suspended for this match — had been flagged as a potential concern beforehand. It did not show. The defensive structure held up comfortably across the 90 minutes, and United Nordic, for all their recent good form, could not find a way to trouble Landskrona’s goal in any sustained way.
The second half was quieter. United Nordic pushed for a way back into the game but Landskrona’s shape stayed solid, and the chances that did arrive for the visitors were dealt with without major alarm. Robin Asterhed’s side managed the closing stages sensibly, protecting the two-goal cushion they had built before the interval and seeing out the win with minimal late drama.
For Landskrona, this is exactly the kind of home performance Asterhed had been demanding after that uncomfortable run of stalemates at Landskrona IP. Following the away win at Helsingborg with a home win over one of the division’s form sides represents a genuinely strong week for the club. They climb back into more comfortable mid-table territory as a result.
For United Nordic, the defeat ends their recent unbeaten run and will raise some questions heading into their next fixture. They remain fourth in the table — the underlying league position is still strong — but conceding twice in the first half on the road, against a side they would have expected to compete with more evenly given recent form, is the kind of result that gets analysed closely in the days that follow.
