Khoza Breaks the Deadlock Early
Rearranged fixture, and Sundowns made it worth the wait. Postponed from opening weekend after the tragic passing of midfielder Jayden Adams, this one finally kicked off at Loftus Versfeld with the Brazilians looking to shake off a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs. Didn’t take long to see the intent. Malibongwe Khoza rifled one home from close range in the 21st minute, completely unmarked after a short corner Gallants just couldn’t clear.
Gallants, winless through two league games already and short on any real attacking spark, had no real answer. Sundowns controlled the rest of the half comfortably, 1-0 at the break, barely troubled at the other end.
Mailula Doubles the Lead, Mudau Forced Off

Sundowns still managed the rest of the game fine, Ndlovu forcing one more save out of keeper Emile Lako in the 87th before the whistle went.

Record night, actually — Sundowns stretch their unbeaten home run in the league to 31 matches now, a new PSL record, and move to seven points from three games, right there with early leaders Pirates and Chiefs. For Marumo Gallants under Phuti Mohafe, third straight game without a win to open the season, stuck bottom of the table on a single point alongside Kruger United and Siwelele.
